Hannibal man gets 20 years for drugs, burglary
HANNIBAL, Mo. — A Hannibal man was sentenced to 20 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections after being found guilty of three felonies.
On July 22 in the Circuit Court of Marion County, Judge Rachel Bringer- Shepherd sentenced Joshua Stevens for the following with terms running consecutively:
Count 1 Burglary in the First Degree: 15 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections
Count 2 Possession of a Controlled Substance: 5 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections
Count 3 Assault in the Fourth Degree: 5 days in the Marion County Jail
On April 30, A jury in Marion County found Stevens, 42, of Hannibal guilty of burglary in the first degree, possession of a controlled substance and assault in the fourth degree.
Stevens unlawfully entered the home of people he did not know on April 19, 2022. While inside the home, Stevens assaulted a resident of the home. Officers with the Hannibal Police Department located Stevens and found to be in possession of methamphetamine.
