Hannibal man jailed after striking victim with gun, threatening to shoot

HANNIBAL, Mo. — A Hannibal man is in the Marion County Jail after he was arrested for threatening to shoot someone.
The 10th Judicial Circuit Court of Marion County issued a warrant on Wednesday, April 16, for Chase P. Folweiler, 27, charging him with domestic assault, kidnapping, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action.
The charges stem from an incident that began several days before in the 700 block of Center. The victim stated that Folweiler became angry while at his residence. Folweiler retrieved a gun and began threatening to shoot the victim. He refused to let the victim have access to a phone and refused to let the victim leave.
At one point, he swung the gun and struck the victim. Eventually the victim left the residence. After the report was made, Hannibal officers executed a search warrant at Folweiler’s residence. Folweiler was taken into custody without incident.
During the search, officers found three firearms, a substance believed to be methamphetamine, drug packaging materials and drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $150,000.
