Hannibal man, Palmyra woman seriously injured in early-morning motorcycle crash on U.S. 61

PALMYRA, Mo. — A Hannibal man and a Palmyra woman suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle crash early Saturday morning just south of Palmyra.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol crash reported a 1994 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling northbound on U.S. 61 near the intersection of Business 61 at 1:49 a.m. when it failed to negotiate a curve, went off the left side of the road and hit a sign. Both occupants were ejected.

The driver, a 54-year-old Hannibal man, was taken by Marion County Ambulance then flown by Air Evac to University Hospital in Columbia to be treated for serious injuries.

The passenger, a 27-year-old Palmyra woman, was taken by Marion County Ambulance then flown by Survival Flight to University Hospital in Columbia to be treated for serious injuries.

Neither the driver nor passenger was wearing a safety device.
