Hannibal man, two juveniles in custody after robbery of church Tuesday morning

HANNIBAL, Mo. — A Hannibal man is in the Marion County Jail and has been charged with accessory to a burglary.

The 10th Judicial Circuit Court of Marion County issued a warrant on Tuesday, July 16 for Caleb S. Nelson, 19. The charges stem from an incident that began on Monday at approximately 10 a.m. in the 500 block of Munger. Officials with Compassion Church discovered their building had been ransacked and items were missing. 

In less than two hours of the initial report, officers with the Hannibal Police Department took two juveniles and Nelson into custody in the 4000 block of Green Meadows. A search warrant was conducted where the juveniles and Nelson had been located. Items from the church, as well as items from local vehicle break-ins, had been recovered. 

Nelson’s bond is set at $50,000.
