HANNIBAL, Mo. – Following a report of shots being fired into a Hannibal home on Christmas night, police have arrested a Hannibal teen.

A warrant was issued Thursday by the 10th Judicial Circuit Court of Marion County for Amareion M. Williams, 19, of Hannibal. He is charged with Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

The charges stem from an incident that began on Wednesday just after 7 p.m. in the 1600 block of Fulton Ave.

Hannibal Police responded to a report of gunshots being fired into a home. During the investigation officers learned Williams and another individual arrived at a residence and were denied entry by the occupants. Williams then allegedly fired a gun at the door causing shrapnel to strike someone inside the home.

Williams fled the scene and was later located and taken into custody without incident. The victim was transported by a private vehicle to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment.

Williams remains in the Marion County Jail and his bond is set at $250,000.
