Hannibal Fire Department

HANNIBAL, Mo. – All Hannibal Fire Department stations responded to a fire Saturday on the city’s south side.

Just after 3:30 Saturday, crews were dispatched to 3520 Hamilton for a report of a structure fire. All stations responded with eight on duty crew members.

Upon arrival on scene, flames were observed on the exterior of the structure on the home’s second story. All occupants were out of the structure upon HFD arrival. Crews quickly set up a ground ladder gaining
access to a covered porch roof. A cross-lay was advanced up the ladder and the fire was attacked from
the covered porch roof. A second cross-lay was advanced into the structure to attack any fire found inside
the residence.

The fire was completely extinguished and crews transitioned to overhaul operations in approximately 30 minutes. There were no injuries on the scene.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Missouri State Fire Marshall’s office. The Hannibal Fire Department was also assisted at the scene by the Hannibal Police Department, Marion County Ambulance District, Hannibal Board of Public Works, Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol, and the Hannibal Building Inspector.

Crews were on-scene until just before 6 p.m. Saturday.
