Hollister Whitney announces $1,500 scholarship winners for local Vocational and Technical students
QUINCY – Hollister-Whitney is proud to announce the winners of its inaugural annual scholarship
program: Lucas Dotson and Mitchell Wilcox.
As Hollister-Whitney celebrates its 125th year in the community, General Manager Ed Trone
believes this was the perfect time to introduce the scholarships.
“This is a great opportunity for HWI to give back to the community we’ve been a part of
for over 125 years,” Trone said.
The Hollister-Whitney Scholarship aims to empower students who demonstrate outstanding
community service, educational merit, and financial need. It is designed to assist individuals
committed to advancing their technical skills and making meaningful contributions to the
workforce.
Lucas Dotson, a graduate of Quincy High School, is currently attending the University of Illinois
Urbana-Champaign. Mitchell Wilcox is a senior at Southeastern High School, where he is taking
dual-enrollment courses at John Wood Community College.
“We’re proud to support Lucas and Mitchell as they further their education and take the
next steps toward their careers,” said Trone. “This scholarship reflects our commitment
to developing the next generation of skilled professionals, and we’re thrilled to recognize
these outstanding students as our first recipients.”
Hollister-Whitney looks forward to continuing this scholarship program for years to come.
“Our business depends on employees with a strong technical background and aptitude,”
Trone added. “Today’s students are the key to our future success.”
