Investigation under way in structure fire Tuesday night that killed two in Hannibal

HANNIBAL, Mo. — The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a structure fire that killed two people at 9:33 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, at 5488 County Road 409 in Hannibal.

The Hannibal Fire Department, Hannibal Rural Fire Department, Palmyra Fire Department and New London Fire Department responded to help extinguish the fire.

One occupant of the home was found outside the residence and received medical attention at the scene.

Assisting with the investigation are the Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Hannibal Police Department and the Marion County Ambulance District.
