Jacksonville man lodged in Pike County Jail facing burglary, methamphetamine charges

PERRY, Ill. — A Jacksonville man is lodged in the Pike County Jail and faces burglary and drug charges.

The Pike County Sheriff’s Department responded at 5:38 p.m. on Sunday, June 16, to a stolen vehicle report in Perry. The victim reported his red 2011 Ford truck had been stolen. The vehicle was recovered a short time later at the Community Park in Chapin.  

A criminal investigation was conducted, and at 3:18 p.m. on Monday, June 17, law enforcement officials executed a court-authorized search warrant at an apartment located in the 100 block of W. Main in Perry.  

After the execution of the search warrant, John P. Baker, 46, was arrested on the following charges:

  • Unlawful possession of a stolen motor vehicle,
  • Burglary,
  • Unlawful delivery of methamphetamine,
  • Driving on a suspended license.
