MACOMB, Ill. — A McDonough County jury found a Macomb man guilty of three counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child after a three-day jury trial that ended Wednesday at the McDonough County Courthouse in Macomb.

Joshua T. Dye, 26, was accused of sexually assaulting a child under the age of 13 on three separate occasions from November 2022 through May 2023.  Each count carries a mandatory sentence of between six and 60 years to the Illinois Department of Corrections. Under Illinois law, each sentence must be served consecutively. Dye also must serve 85 percent of each prison sentence.

A sentencing hearing has been set for 1:30 p.m. June 7.

In a press release, the McDonough County State’s Attorney’s Office thanked Frontline Forensics of Western Illinois, the Advocacy Network for Children, the Western Illinois Regional Council and the Macomb Police Department for assistance in Dye’s prosecution.
