La Grange man turns himself in, gets charged with burglary
CANTON, Mo. — A La Grange man who fled law enforcement officers a week earlier turned himself in and was charged with burglary.
Deputies with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department were called on Aug. 2 to a property in rural Canton for a suspicious vehicle. While deputies were at the property, a vehicle belonging to John R. Hager, 38, of La Grange was found behind hay bales. As deputies searched the area, a person moved the car and then fled the area on foot.
Hager came to the sheriff’s department on Aug. 10 to provide a statement and eventually admitted to attempting to steal items from the property. Hager was arrested and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges.
An arrest warrant was sought through Lewis County Prosecuting Attorney Chelsea Fellinger. Judge Corey Moon issued a warrant alleging one count of second-degree burglary, a Class D felony, and one count of resisting/Interfering with arrest for a felony, a Class E felony.
Hager was lodged in the Lewis County Jail. His bond is $10,000.
