Macomb man in McDonough County Jail facing predatory criminal sexual assault of a child charge

MACOMB, Ill. — A Macomb man is in the McDonough County Jail and charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.

The Macomb Police Department’s Investigation Division began investigating on Dec. 31, 2023, an allegation that Payton L. Rucker, 20, had inappropriate contact with a child under the age of 13 between Dec. 1-31, 2023. Detectives later presented the case to the McDonough County State’s Attorney’s Office for review.

Rucker was formally charged May 9 with one count of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, a Class X Felony. He was detained at the McDonough County Jail where he remains in custody with no bond.
