MACOMB, Ill. — A Macomb man was sentenced on Thursday in McDonough County Circuit Court to three sentences of 15 years which must be served consecutively.

Joshua T. Dye, 26, must serve 85 percent of his sentence in prison under the state’s truth in sentencing law. Dye was given credit for 425 days already served in the McDonough County Jail.

Dye was found guilty on April 17 by a McDonough County jury after a three-day jury trial. While announcing Dye’s sentence, McDonough County Circuit Judge Nigel Graham noted the “extreme depravity” of the crimes. The child victim was under the age of 5.

The McDonough County State’s Attorney’s Office thanked Frontline Forensics of Western Illinois, the Advocacy Network for Children, the Western Illinois Regional Council and the Macomb Police Department for assistance in the case.
