Man refuses medical treatment after Jeep rollover Thursday on U.S. 24 near Coatsburg

COATSBURG, Ill. — A man was injured in a single-vehicle crash on Thursday in Adams County.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Department responded to the report of a single-vehicle rollover crash near 2084 U.S. 24 east of Coatsburg. Steven Barry, 35, was driving a 1995 Jeep westbound on U.S. 24 when he tried to avoid an animal in the road and lost control of the vehicle. The Jeep left the south side of the road, struck a ditch and overturned.

Barry refused medical treatment.

The Central Adams Fire Department, Camp Point Fire Department, Adams County Ambulance and Illinois State Police assisted at the scene.
