Mendon man charged with failure to yield at intersection after Thursday crash near Loraine

LORAINE, Ill. — Minor injuries were reported after a traffic accident Thursday morning at the intersection of Illinois Route 336 and E. 1750th Street north of Loraine.

Deputies with the Adams County Sheriff’s Department responded at approximately 9:14 a.m. to a two-vehicle accident on Illinois Route 336. After a brief on-scene investigation, it was determined that a 2012 GMC Sierra driven by Arthur L. McMullen, 81, of Loraine failed to yield to oncoming traffic and crashed into a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country driven by Denise M. Welsh, 50, of Milan.

Both vehicles collided in the intersection and had to be towed from the scene. Adams County EMS responded and treated minor injuries. The fire departments from Loraine and Mendon also assisted.

McMullen was charged with failure to yield at an intersection.
