Miracle on Maine event brings holiday magic to three Quincy locations on Saturday
QUINCY — Miracle on Maine Street is a collaboration between the Quincy Art Center, the Quincy Museum and Friends of the Lorenzo Bull House from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7. The night will be filled with live music, crafts and treats for the family.
There will be a wreath raffle, made by local artists. The wreaths will be on display for people to see at the Quincy Arts Center. On the night of the event, a wreath will be displayed at each location. The price for a raffle ticket is $5 for one and $20 for five.
Quincy Arts Center Executive Director Sandra Hite wants people to experience an enchanted evening of magic.
“We would actually love people to feel very energized and inspired by the holiday season. This is the atmosphere we all look forward to,” Hite said.
A horse and carriage will be at the event. However, all of the rides are already sold out.
Participants will receive an event passport to explore each location’s activities. Events will be at all three locations. Local artists will play live music at the Quincy Museum. The Quincy Arts Center will have keepsake ornament making and viewing of artwork featured in the 30th annual Mary S. Oakley and Lee Lindsay Area Artist Showcase. The Lorenzo Bull Park will have hot chocolate and cookies for guests.
Hite said she hopes the partnership between the Quincy Museum, Lorenzo Bull Park and the Arts Center continues.
“We just kind of generated a few ideas of how we could collaborate as partners with the purpose of serving the community, bringing joy and bringing the community together,” Hite said. “What sort of festive opportunities might be available where we share this corner? We might be able to bring people here, and not only for the event but also to kind of generally impact tourism, making Quincy a great place to stay or move to.
“We’re going to have luminaries connect our buildings. We are each going to have our buildings decorated beautifully. The Lorenzo Bull Park will have Kris Kringle himself.”
