MOUNT STERLING, Ill. — Klare Flynn, Miss Brown County Fair Queen 2023 and a daughter of Jeremy and Jessica Flynn of Mount Sterling, competed for the title of Miss Illinois County Fair Queen 2024 at the Illinois Association of Agricultural Fairs annual convention in Springfield.

Flynn, 19, placed among the top 16 finalists. She’s the first contestant in Brown County Fair history to ever score at this level. Seventy-three contestants competed at the Crowne Plaza for the esteemed title during the competition from Jan. 11-14.

Flynn’s scores came from her performance in a four-minute interview with five judges Friday morning, followed by her preliminary competition on Saturday night, which consisted of stage presence in an evening gown, physical physique in a swimsuit and communication skills presenting a speech in under 60 seconds.

After the top 16 finalists were announced Sunday night, Flynn answered three on-stage questions, followed by the delivery of her speech and modeling of her swimsuit and evening gown once more for the judges and more than 1,000 attendees. The event was streamed live for the first time.
