Miss Mark Twain named rookie, overall winner in talent competition at Miss Missouri competition

MEXICO- The 94th Miss Missouri competition began Wednesday night at Missouri Military Academy in Mexico with the announcement of preliminary winners in evening gown and talent. It is the 55th anniversary of the competition being held in Mexico.

This year also marks the 20th anniversary of Miss Missouri’s Teen competition. 

Delegates in the Sash group competed in talent. The judges selected Miss Mark Twain’s Teen Maggie Bannester, who performed a baton twirling routine, as the overall and rookie winner. She is a daughter of Jane Bannester of St. Louis. She is a graduate of Ritenour High School in Overland, Mo., and plans to attend Lindenwood University this fall, where she will major in art and design with an emphasis in K-12 education.

As a double preliminary talent winner, Bannister will receive $350 in scholarships.

The preliminary competition continued Thursday night for the Miss and the Teen delegates. Reigning Miss Missouri’s Teen Bridget Caldwell will have her final walk before crowning a new winner on Friday night. 

Miss Missouri’s Teen 2025 will receive more than $7,000. The prize package will include the official crown and sash, a $3,500 wardrobe allowance, a talent consultation with Bill Wolfe, national wardrobe sponsor Joann’s of Tennessee, a wardrobe sponsor by Natalie M of Overland Park, Kan., and a travel gas gift card.  

The Miss Missouri Scholarship Organization provided $85,000 in scholarships to the delegates competing for the Miss Missouri and Miss Missouri’s Teen titles.
