Monday morning fire on Broadway in Hannibal determined to be accidental

HANNIBAL, Mo. — A fire at 216 Broadway on Monday morning was determined to be accidental.

The Hannibal Fire Department was dispatched to 216 Broadway at approximately 8:56 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14, for a report of a structure fire. All stations responded with 10 on-duty crew members. 

Upon arrival on the scene, crews found a light haze on the first floor and light smoke coming from several rooms on the second floor. All occupants were out of the structure upon the arrival of fire crews. A small fire was found at the rear of the building in an exterior wall between the first and second floor. No injuries were reported.

The fire was investigated by the Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office. The Hannibal Fire Department was assisted by the Hannibal Police Department, Hannibal Building Inspectors Office and the Marion County Ambulance District.
