Monroe City man seriously injured in Friday morning crash on U.S. 24

MONROE CITY, Mo. — A Monroe City man was seriously injured in a crash on U.S. 24 in Monroe County Friday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 60-year-old man was driving a Ford sedan, three miles south of Monroe City, when he crossed the center line of the road and struck a 2020 Mack semi-truck head-on. The truck was driven by a 58-year-old Columbia man.

The Monroe City man suffered serious injuries in the crash, and his car was totaled. He was transported to the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia by air evacuation.

The Columbia man was moderately injured. His car suffered moderate damage.
