Motorcyclist killed Sunday night after collision with pickup truck at 12th and Park Place

QUINCY — A man on a motorcycle was killed Sunday night when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a pickup truck.

Quincy Police, Quincy Fire and Adams County Ambulance were dispatched to 12th and Park Place at 5:23 p.m. Sunday in reference to a motor vehicle accident involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle.  Witnesses said the pickup truck was traveling west on Park Place and came to a stop at the stop sign at 12th Street before attempting to make a southbound turn onto 12th.  The motorcycle was traveling north on 12th Street and collided with the pickup truck. 

The motorcyclist was ejected, then transported to Blessing Hospital by ambulance and later pronounced dead.  A crash reconstruction team from the Illinois State Police responded to assist.

The investigation is still ongoing.  The occupants of the pickup truck were uninjured.
