New Hannibal Arts Council exhibits open today

HANNIBAL, Mo. — The upcoming exhibits at the Hannibal Arts Council showcase a dynamic range of media, offering something for every art enthusiast. These exciting exhibitions will be on display from July 18 through Aug. 23 at the Hannibal Arts Council located at 105 S. Main.

An exhibit opening will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 18, featuring an artist talk at 6 p.m. There will also be light refreshments and sounds from the featured musician Jerry Rosenkrans.

The exhibits will feature a variety of talented artists, including Howard Kuo (Hannibal) who will be showing his highly stylized paintings, Karick Heaton (Salt Lake City, Utah) with his detailed mixed media designs, and Drew and Jennifer Wilkerson (Brookfield) with barn quilt square paintings.

Additionally, local artists have submitted works for the “Mellow Yellow” Open Show, which will explore the vibrant beauty of the color yellow. The Photography Channel will display digital images reflecting the theme “Patterns,” along with the featured photographer, Brad Osborne of Hannibal.

HAC gallery hours through August 23 are noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays (during exhibits only).
