No injuries reported in early Sunday fire on Bird Street in Hannibal
HANNIBAL, Mo. — The Hannibal Fire Department was dispatched at approximately 4:40 a.m. Sunday, June 9, for a report of a structure fire at 615 Bird. HFD responded with eight personnel, and upon arrival, requested an additional four off-duty personnel.
Crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from a two-story wood frame multi-family structure. The occupants were out of the residence at the time of the fire department’s arrival. HFD conducted an offensive attack. The fire was contained in approximately 30 minutes. Crews were on the scene for overhaul and salvage for approximately 2 hours.
Investigators from the Hannibal Fire Department and Missouri Division of Fire Service were called in to investigate. HFD was assisted on the scene by the Hannibal Police Department, Marion County Ambulance District, Hannibal Building Inspectors Office, Hannibal Board of Public Works and the American Red Cross.
The fire is under investigation.
