Pedestrian struck by vehicle Sunday morning while walking on Memorial Bridge

QUINCY — A pedestrian on the Memorial Bridge was injured Sunday morning and hospitalized.

Officers with the Quincy Police Department were dispatched to 201 Maine (Memorial Bridge) at 6:47 a.m. in reference to an accident with injuries. Officers learned a pedestrian while walking on the Memorial Bridge was struck by a vehicle. The pedestrian was transported to Blessing Hospital after sustaining serious injuries. The bridge was limited to one lane of traffic as the investigation continued. The Illinois State Police assisted with this incident.
