Pike County Sheriff’s Department takes 13-year-old boy into custody after stolen vehicle located

NEBO, Ill. — A 13-year-old has been taken into custody and charged with unlawful possession of a stolen motor vehicle and no valid driver’s license.  

The Pike County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched at 7:13 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1 to a rural area located between Nebo and Pearl in reference to a suspicious vehicle left in a field.  

Upon arrival, the Pike County Sheriff’s Department discovered the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Alton on Tuesday, Jan. 31. Within three hours, the Pike County Sheriff’s Department located the suspect at a residence in Nebo. 

The juvenile is being detained pending a court appearance.
