Pittsfield girl recognized as this year’s Quincy Dogwood Festival baby

QUINCY — Lainey Jean Peterson, newborn daughter of Julie and John Peterson of Pittsfield, is the 2023 Quincy Dogwood Festival baby.
Lainey earned the honor by being the first baby born at Blessing Hospital after the start of this year’s Dogwood Festival. Lainey was born at 3:44 p.m. Saturday, May 6. She weighed 5 pounds and 15 ounces and was 18.5 inches long. She joins a sister, Anna, and a brother, Jackson, at home.
The Peterson family receives a tree and a $50 gift certificate from Frese Ornamental Nursery in Quincy for the honor. This was the 27th year for the Dogwood Festival Baby recognition.
