Pittsfield man in custody in Marion County after stealing FedEx box truck

PALMYRA, Mo. — A Pittsfield, Ill., man was taken into custody Thursday morning in Taylor, Mo., after he stole a FedEx box truck.

The Quincy Police Department received a call at 10:31 a.m. Thursday that the truck was taken as a FedEx driver got out to make a delivery at 10th and Jersey. The Marion County Sheriff’s Department eventually responded to assist the Adams County (Ill.) Sheriff’s Department with an active pursuit of the truck.

The driver, Devon L. Wagner, was taken into custody just south of Palmyra at approximately 11:20 a.m. Wanger now is in the Marion County Jail pending charges by the Marion County Prosecuting Attorney.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Adams County (Ill.) Sheriff’s Office, the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Palmyra Police Department.
