Plainville man arrested for possession of child porn

PLAINVILLE, Ill. — The Adams County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Plainville man on four counts of possession of child pornography.

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services alerted the Sheriff’s Office on Dec. 29 regarding a case of sexual exploitation of a minor. A subsequent investigation led the arrest of Joshua D. Cress, 42, of 371 Main in Plainville.

Cress was arrested Tuesday afternoon and lodged in the Adams County Jail on $150,000 bond.

DCFS and the Child Advocacy Center assisted in the investigation.
