Plainville man facing four counts of possession of child porn has two more counts added
PLAINVILLE, Ill. — A Plainville man already facing four counts of possession of child pornography from a January arrest now faces two more charges.
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services alerted the Adams County Sheriff’s Department on Dec. 29 regarding a case of sexual exploitation of a minor. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Joshua D. Cress, 43, of 371 Main in Plainville. Cress was arrested Tuesday, Jan. 3 and lodged in the Adams County Jail.
Bond was set at $150,000. Cress posted $15,000 (10 percent) on Jan. 5 and was released.
After an ongoing investigation, two more charges of possession of child pornograhy were assessed, and an arrest warrant was issued. Cress was arrested at 12:43 p.m. Friday, March 10 without incident, and he now is lodged in the Adams County Jail. Bond was set at $300,000.
The Adams County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Quincy Police Department, the Department of Children and Family Services and the Child Advocacy Center.
