Pleasant Hill man facing charges of possession, dissemination of child pornography after Wednesday arrest

MOUNT AUBURN, Ill. — Officials with the Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation arrested a Pleasant Hill man on Wednesday and charged him with possession of child pornography, a Class 2 felony, and four counts of dissemination of child pornography, a Class X felony.

ISPDCI Zone 4 agents initiated an investigation on June 23 after learning a person was distributing child pornography through an online platform. During the investigation, investigators assigned to the Office of the Illinois Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children task force (ICAC) gathered digital evidence indicating that Georg Goins, 38, of Pleasant Hill was possessing and disseminating child pornography from his residence in Mount Auburn. Through the investigation, investigators also determined Goins was a registered sex offender.

After his arrest, Goins was transported to the Christian County Jail. He is awaiting bond.
