QU to host Winter Commencement


QUINCY – Quincy University’s Winter Commencement will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Pepsi Arena.

The 2021 graduating class is comprised of 57 undergraduates with an additional 13 graduate degree recipients.
University marshal Robert Mejer, distinguished professor of art, and assistant marshals David Kirchhofer and Scott Luaders, professors of physics and chemistry, respectively, will lead the procession.

Teresa I. Reed, vice president for academic affairs, will convene the ceremony. Rev. John Doctor, vice president for mission and ministry, will deliver the invocation and benediction. President Brian McGee will give closing remarks.

Seniors Makayla Briggs, Joshua Crowl and Conner Pigg will perform the National Anthem and the Quincy University Alma Mater.

Robert L. Wyatt, vice president for university advancement, will deliver the commencement address. Wyatt serves as the chief fundraising officer for the university and the leader of QU’s fundraising, communication and alumni relations efforts. He has nearly 30 years of experience working in higher education, serving as president of Coker (S.C.) University for 10 years, the dean of the Breech School of Business at Drury (Mo.) University and dean of the McAfee School of Business at Union (Tenn.) University. Wyatt holds a doctorate in accounting from the
University of Memphis, a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and a bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Central Arkansas.

Masks will be required for audience members. Physical distancing will be practiced.

The ceremonies will be live-streamed HERE for guests unable to attend.
