QUINCY — The City of Quincy will utilize a service to improve its digital front door.

On Monday, The Quincy City Council voted 13-0 to approve a three-year agreement with CGI Digital of Rochester, NY to create what the company calls a “Community Showcase Video Program”.

Quincy Mayor Mike Troup said he discovered the company and its services when he attended the U.S. Conference of Mayors in Washington D.C. earlier this month. As the city had already purchased equipment to improve the quality of the weekly City Council broadcast, it was looking for other ways to better the site and add more video elements.

Troup said the service will be a promotional tool that can highlight what the city has to offer. CGI Digital will make its money selling advertisements and sponsorships in the content and on the site. The details of that process are in the pdf below.

Alderman Ben Uzelac (D-7) was absent.
