Quincy Family YMCA launches “Back to the Pool” campaign to restore beloved community hub

YMCA POOL

QUINCY — The Quincy Family YMCA has launched the Back to the Pool, forward as a community campaign—an ambitious effort to restore and re-imagine its cherished pool facility. With more than $1 million already pledged toward a $5 million goal, this campaign is fueled by community support, legacy and a bold vision for the future.

The community spoke—and we listened.

For over 50 years, the Y’s pool was more than water—it was where kids learned to swim, friendships were formed and generations connected. Its closure, while difficult, was necessary to ensure safety and assess long-term solutions. Now, with thoughtful planning and strong momentum, we’re ready to move forward.

“Let’s get the pool back—and better.”

“My grandfather made sure it was funded for 50 years. Let’s do it again.”

This project goes beyond repairs—it’s about rebuilding a centerpiece of wellness and belonging:

  • Full pool renovation
  • Roof & HVAC replacement
  • New amenities: hot tub, cold tub and co-ed sauna
  • Aquatics Endowment Fund to support long-term sustainability

Campaign Timeline

Now: The campaign is currently in the public fundraising phase. Major donor and partnership outreach will run August through December with construction scheduled to begin in summer 2026.

Every gift matters. Whether big or small, each donation helps ensure the YMCA remains a place for all—today and for generations to come.
