Quincy man charged with three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse

QUINCY — A Quincy man is in the Adams County Jail after he was arrested and charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse on Wednesday afternoon.

A Quincy juvenile reported on May 6 to the Quincy Police Department possible sexual abuse by Jeremy A. McSparren, 38.  The juvenile was interviewed at the Child Advocacy Center in Quincy and disclosed additional abuse. An arrest warrant was issued May 12 for McSparren for 3 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. 

McSparren was arrested without incident Tuesday in Quincy. He was interviewed by detectives and lodged in the Adams County Jail.  His bond is $75,000.

McSparren appeared in court Wednesday afternoon and was appointed counsel. His next court date is set for May 22.
