Quincy man facing drug charges, captured in hotel after trying to flee with pistol in hand

QUINCY — A Quincy man is in the Adams County Jail after he was arrested at a Quincy hotel on Friday.

Officers with the Quincy Police Department and West Central Illinois Task Force executed a search warrant at the Quincy Inn and Suites, 224 N. 36th, at 11:15 a.m. Friday.  Colton Parsons, 28, of 2407 Cedar was the target of the search warrant in a room on the second floor.   

Officers made contact with Parsons in the hallway of the second floor of the hotel.  Parsons fled down the hallway from officers with a pistol in his left hand.  A second team of officers apprehended Parsons in the west stairwell. Parsons was taken into custody after a brief struggle. No shots were fired by Parsons or law enforcement. 

Parsons has been charged with armed violence, possession with intent to deliver 15-100 grams of methamphetamine and felon in possession of a firearm.
