Quincy man/registered sex offender arrested on multiple charges
QUINCY — A 42 year-old Quincy man was arrested this week as he visited the Quincy Police Department to complete his sex offender registration.
Bryan L. Shuck, 1609 Cedar, went to QPD headquarters on Sept. 13, at which time he was taken into custody and interviewed regarding an August report of an alleged theft by Shuck. After Shuck was taken into custody, a search warrant was executed and a vehicle was searched at the police department.
Investigators with the Quincy Police Department also executed a search warrant at Shuck’s residence. During the search, investigators located financial documents along with an open/incomplete vehicle title and ammunition. Investigators also determined that Shuck had failed to register certain things on his sex offender registration as required by law. Shuck was lodged in the Adams County Jail.
The theft/fraud was reported to be more than $10,000.
Shuck has multiple felony convictions including a 2004 conviction in Missouri for deviant sexual assault, another Missouri conviction in 2008 for passing a bad check more than $500 and a 2014 federal conviction for failure to register as a sex offender.
Shuck appeared in Adams County court on Thursday where he was charged with the following:
- Forgery
- Theft over $10,000
- Possession of an open title of a vehicle
- Possession of ammunition by a felon
- Failure to register as a sex offender.
Shuck’s bond was set at $60,000 (10 percent to apply) and was later released on $6,000 cash bond.
