Quincy man suffers minor injuries after vehicle hydroplanes, overturns on Interstate 172

Adams-County-Sheriffs-Department

QUINCY — A Quincy man suffered minor injuries in a one-car accident on Tuesday morning.

Deputies from the Adams County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 172 south of the Marblehead exit. A 2015 Kia Sol driven by Robert Geisenhagen, 45, of Quincy changed lanes to allow merging traffic to enter the interstate, but the vehicle hydroplaned because of heavy rain.

The vehicle went into a media, where it overturned. Geisenhagen was assisted byt a passing nurse, who ensured he was OK before deputies arrived. Geisenhagen was treated at the scene for minor scrapes, and the vehicle was towed. Traffic on Interstate 172 was slowed to one lane while the vehicle was removed.

The Hannibal Fire Department, the Payson Fire Department and Adams County EMS provided assistance.
