Quincy Police investigating reports of counterfeit $100 bills circulating throughout city
QUINCY — Officials with the Quincy Police Department said in a Friday press release they have been receiving and investigating reports of counterfeit $100 bills being passed within the city, as well as Missouri and other surrounding areas.
The bills pass the pen test when checked by the merchants. However, QPD officials say the paper will peel apart when checked.
Many of the bills have the following serial numbers:
- HL62546631G
- HL62256314G
- HL62566311G
If anyone tries to use one of these bills, contact QPD at 217-222-9360.
