Quincy teen arrested for possession of stolen property, meth

QUINCY — An 18-year-old Quincy man was arrested Friday after short foot chase on the east end of Quincy.

Just after 9:45 a.m. Friday, Quincy Police officers located a stolen vehicle in the 4300 block of Broadway. The suspect, Brayden Gabel, 1605 Elm, was nearby and fled. After a brief pursuit, he was taken into custody.

Along with the vehicle and some meth, police also found other stolen items including air pods, sunglasses and car keys.

Gabel faces multiple charges including Theft over $10,000, Possession of Stolen Property, Burglary, Possession of Burglary Tools, Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine and Resisting a Peace Officer.

Contact the QPD watch commander at 217-228-4470 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. if you believe you can identify any of the stolen items.
