Registration for ‘Pink. Pass It On in the District’ walk open; proceeds benefit breast cancer awareness
QUINCY — Registration is now open for the 15th annual “Pink. Pass it on in the District” 5K walk for breast cancer awareness on Oct. 23. All proceeds benefit the Blessing Foundation Breast Center financial assistance program.
Walkers are asked for a minimum $25 donation. Each walker will receive a T-shirt. Children under 12 can walk for free. Registrations can be made on the day of the walk. Pre-registered walkers can pick up their shirts between 2-6 p.m. Oct. 22 on Sixth Street between Maine and Hampshire. Window clings and “In honor of” buttons will be available for purchase during T-shirt pick up and during the walk.
Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. on race day, with speakers at 9:30 a.m. The walk begins immediately after the speakers in Washington Park. Walkers will up and back on Maine Street, finishing in Washington Park. Several drawings will be held immediately after the walk. Participants must be present to win a drawing.
The Blessing Breast Center specific purpose fund is available to patients with a medical need but lack the finances to address it on their own, and all community resources have been exhausted.
