Remembering today 22 years ago

QUINCY — Should you happen to be downtown today, you should take a moment to either stop by City Hall or at least slow down and take a look.
There’s usually a pretty good crowd there on Monday night’s for City Council meetings as well. I’m sure many of those people will take a pause before they enter the building.
For 12 years, our 9-11 memorial, part of a broadcast tower which was built by Quincy’s Harris Corporation and sat atop the World Trade Center when the building fell, has served as a reminder of that tragic day in New York City that affected all Americans.
Martha Rapp’s 2021 piece on Quincy’s 9-11 Memorial offers a beautiful explanation of the meaning behind that hunk of metal at 730 Maine.
