Salvation Army’s Christmas Campaign surpasses goal, raises $470,420

QUINCY — Mandar and Laura Dighe, chairs for the Salvation Army of Quincy Christmas Campaign, recently announced the campaign goal of $435,000 was exceeded with a total raised of $470,420.

The Tree of Lights Christmas Campaign is The Salvation Army’s major fundraising effort each year. Money raised during the campaign provides Christmas assistance and funds programs and services that assist individuals and families in the Adams, Brown and Pike County areas.

During the recent holiday season, the following assistance was given in the Quincy service area: 

  • 800 food baskets were distributed;
  • 1,864 children received 13,901 toys in conjunction with Toys for Tots of Quincy;
  • 625 meals were served on Thanksgiving, and;
  • 250 meals were served on Christmas Day.

The Salvation Army is grateful to the 823 volunteers who donated 1,619 hours of volunteer service to help make all of this possible.
