Search warrant in New Canton leads to discovery of meth, meth paraphernalia, ammunition in home
NEW CANTON, Ill. — A New Canton man was arrested Thursday and faces drug and guns charges.
The Pike County Sheriff’s Department executed a court-authorized search warrant at 6:34 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17 at a residence located in the 200 block of N. Walnut in New Canton. After the execution of the warrant, methamphetamine, methamphetamine-related drug paraphernalia and ammunition were located and seized.
A second court-authorized search warrant was executed on a machine shed on 220th Street in New Canton. After the execution of the second search warrant, methamphetamine and methamphetamine-related drug paraphernalia was located and seized.
Arrested was Richard Dylan Bernard, 28, of New Canton on the following charges:
- Unlawful possession of methamphetamine,
- Unlawful possession of firearms ammunition by a felon,
- Unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Bernard was arrested without incident and lodged in the Pike County Jail.
The Illinois State Police and Illinois Department of Natural Resources Conversation Police assisted with the investigation.
