Shots fired near Johnson Park

QUINCY – Quincy Police responded to a report of shots being fired near a neighborhood park Wednesday afternoon.
At about 3 p.m. Wednesday, officers were called to the 1800 block of Van Buren near Johnson Park. Upon a search of the area, officers located shell casings on the scene. During the investigation, several people were interviewed and reported hearing multiple shots being fired. There were no reported injuries.
Officers are reviewing video surveillance, collecting evidence and the investigation is ongoing. Preliminary information suggests that this was not a random act of violence.
