Ten duos to perform at Dancing with the Local Stars event on Feb. 7 at the Ambiance

QUINCY — Cornerstone’s 15th annual Dancing with Local Stars will be held on Friday, Feb. 7, at the Ambiance. This year’s theme, “Hooray for Hollywood as Dancing with Local Stars Goes to the Movies,” will celebrate the glamour of Hollywood but also recognize outstanding people in the community.

Local stars who will grace the dance floor are:

• Mekia Gay and Maurice Silas
• Tom and Shantae Frese
• Megan Sohn and Jim Sohn
• Dennis Ippensen and Maddie Ippensen
• Ashley Burnett and Megan Duesterhaus-AuBuchon
• Melissa Wayland and Michael D. Perkins
• Adam Yates and Sam McKelvie

Judging this exciting competition will be a distinguished panel, featuring the 2024 People’s Choice winners, Jim and Julie Molidor.

Each Dancing with Local Stars event pays tribute to a Humanitarian of the Year. This year’s award will go to the Covered Bottoms Diaper Bank, which strengthens social services in West Central Illinois by helping agencies and organizations provide families with essential baby supplies.

What began as a simple conversation between Marla Willard and Anita Hanke about supporting families in need has grown into a vital resource serving the community since 2020. Through partnerships with organizations like Cornerstone, Covered Bottoms Diaper Bank has distributed nearly 65,000 diapers in 2024 alone and more than 511,000 diapers to local families since its inception.
