QPS to put former bus barn on auction block on Aug. 12; open houses scheduled for Monday, Wednesday

QUINCY — Quincy Public Schools has set 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 12 for the auction of a building at 121 N. 20th, formerly known “The Bus Barn.”

The QPS maintenance department will hold open houses for prospective buyers to tour the 13,612-square-foot building from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 5, and from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7.

A minimum bid of $250,000 has been set, with an earnest money payment of $10,000 due at the time of purchase.

The sale comes as the QPS maintenance, technology and transportation departments move to a newly renovated building at 1600 N. 43rd.
