Two arrested in Walmart parking lot in connection to several criminal trespassing cases last weekend

QUINY — A Springfield man and a homeless woman are lodged in the Adams County Jail in connection with criminal activity in Adams County.

Deputies with the Adams County Sheriff’s Department found a U-Haul truck in the Walmart parking lot at 8:30 a.m. Monday, June 5. The truck was believed to be associated with several criminal trespass cases from this past weekend, along with a residential burglary, multiple thefts and additional criminal activity in Adams County.  

The driver of the U-Haul, Randall S. Taylor, 39, of Springfield was taken into custody for an outstanding failure to appear-theft warrant out of Sangamon County, along with the above-mentioned local charges. Taylor is on mandatory supervised release, previously known as parole, from the Illinois Department of Corrections for burglary.

Danielle R. Werner, 32, also was taken into custody for the above-mentioned charges.  

Both subjects have no bond, and additional charges are pending. Both subjects are waiting for their first court appearance.
