Two-hour parking violations in downtown Quincy to be focus of patrol beginning Monday

QUINCY — Quincy Police Department officers will patrol the downtown Quincy business district – as calls for service allow – and will focus on two-hour parking violations beginning Monday, Oct. 16. Tickets will be issued to vehicles found to be in violation.

A Friday press release from the Quincy Police Department says it has received complaints about vehicles parking beyond the two-hour time limit in downtown Quincy. It has been suggested that employees who work downtown park on the street and go to work, making it difficult for customers wishing to patronize local businesses to find a parking spot.

Quincy city ordinance limits parking on most public streets in downtown Quincy to two hours. Signage is installed to notify motorists of the time restriction. Violations of the two-hour parking limit are subject to a notice of violation and a fine up to $20 for each occurrence.
