Two injured in two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon on U.S. 61 near Palmyra

PALMYRA, Mo. — Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 61, one mile south of Palmyra, on Wednesday afternoon.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the accident occurred at 2:37 p.m. Wednesday, June 18. A 2011 Ford F250 truck traveling east pulled into the path of a 2016 Hyundai Elantra traveling south.

The driver of the Hyundai Elantra, a 48-year-old man from Monroe City, was wearing a seat belt and sustained moderate injuries. He was transported by Marion County Ambulance to Hannibal Regional Hospital.

The driver of the Ford F250, a 74-year-old man from Palmyra, was not wearing a seatbelt. He also suffered moderate injuries and was transported by Marion County Ambulance to Hannibal Regional Hospital.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Palmyra Fire Department, the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, and the Marion County Ambulance.
