Rilya M. Kirby-Roberts, 18, of Quincy was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox southbound on 12th Street when she lost control of the vehicle, which left the west side of the road and struck a utility pole and a fence. Kirby-Roberts and a 17-year-old female passenger were taken to Blessing Hospital.

South 12th Street was shut down for approximately one hour because the utility pole was knocked down.

Kirby-Roberts was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.
